Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions govern the use of our website and the services provided by Genuine Quality Painting & Decorating. By requesting an estimate, booking a service, or engaging with our company in any capacity, you agree to be bound by these terms. Please read them carefully before proceeding.

Estimate Validity

Estimates issued by Genuine Quality Painting & Decorating are valid for 30 days from the date of issuance. After 30 days, the estimate expires and pricing may be subject to revision based on current material costs and project availability. If you wish to proceed with an expired estimate, please contact us to request an updated quote before scheduling your project.

Deposit and Payment Terms

A 50% deposit is required to schedule and lock in any approved project. The remaining 50% balance is due upon completion of the project. All invoices are issued under Due Upon Receipt terms.

Credit card via Stripe

If a deposit is not received within 5 business days of estimate approval, the project may be released from the calendar. If a final balance is not received within 10 business days of project completion, late fees may apply.

Cancellation and Rescheduling

Clients may cancel or reschedule a project up to 7 days before the scheduled start date without penalty. Cancellations made within 7 days of the scheduled start date may result in forfeiture of up to 25% of the deposit to cover scheduling and material acquisition costs.

Rescheduling requests are accommodated based on calendar availability. We will work with you to find the next available date that fits both schedules. To cancel or reschedule, please contact us as early as possible at (630) 400-2443 or [email protected].

Satisfaction Guarantee and Warranty

Genuine Quality Painting & Decorating stands behind every square foot of work we deliver. If you are not satisfied with the finished work at the time of the final walk-through, we will return to address the issue at no additional cost.

We provide a workmanship warranty on all painting work for one year from the date of project completion. This warranty covers defects in workmanship and does not cover damage caused by:

Extreme weather conditions
Building settling or structural movement
Normal wear and tear

Touch-ups requested within 48 hours of project completion are completed at no charge. Touch-ups requested after 48 hours may be subject to a service fee.

Scope of Work

All work performed by Genuine Quality Painting & Decorating is based on the scope outlined in the approved estimate. Any changes to the scope of work requested after the estimate is approved — including additional surfaces, colors, or preparation requirements — may result in a revised quote before additional work proceeds. We will never perform out-of-scope work without your written or verbal approval and an updated price agreement.

Client Responsibilities

To ensure smooth project delivery, clients agree to:

Provide clear and safe access to the property and work areas on scheduled project days
Remove or protect personal belongings, furniture, and valuables from work areas prior to the project start
Notify us of any known hazards, structural issues, or restrictions relevant to the work
Be available or designate a representative to complete the final walk-through upon project completion

Limitation of Liability

Genuine Quality Painting & Decorating is fully licensed and insured. In the event of accidental damage caused by our crew during the performance of services, we will work to remedy the situation promptly. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by the client for the specific service in which the damage occurred. We are not liable for pre-existing conditions, structural defects, or damage arising from client-provided materials.

Use of Website

Our website is provided for informational purposes. You may not use our website for any unlawful purpose or in any way that could damage or impair the site. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue any part of the website at any time without notice.

Privacy

Your use of our website and services is also subject to our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms and Conditions by reference.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. When changes are made, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Your continued use of our website or services after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these terms or any service provided by Genuine Quality Painting & Decorating shall be resolved in the courts of Kane County, Illinois.
